Gilad Ratman was born in Haifa, Israel, in 1975, and studied at the Bezalel Academy for Art and Design (BFA), Jerusalem and then at Columbia University (MFA), NY. Solo exhibitions have included TRAFO Center for Contemporary Art, Szczecin (2015); Israel Museum, Jerusalem (2015); MACBA, Museum of Contemporary Art, Buenos Aires (2014); Israeli Pavilion Venice Biennale, Venice (2013); MCA, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (2011); Ferenbalm-Gurb Station, Karlsruhe (2011); Braverman Gallery, Tel Aviv (2010) and the Haifa Museum of Art, Haifa (2009). Group exhibitions have included , Contour 2015, 7th Biennale of Moving Image, Mechelen (2015); Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Tel Aviv (2015); The Jewish Museum, NY (2014); PRO ARTE, St. Petersburg (2014); Neuberger Museum of Art, NY (2013); Bass Musuem of Art, Miami (2012); Herzliya Contemporary Art Biennial, Herzliya (2011); Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia (2011); The Garage Center of Contemporary Art, Moscow (2010); MoMA PS1, NY (2010); Dallas Contemporary Art Center, Dallas (2010); Rencontres d’Arles, Arles (2010); Ratman has been awarded the Anslem Kiefer Prize by the Wolf Foundation (2011); The Ministry of Culture “Young Artist” Prize (2007) and the Givon Prize of Tel Aviv Museum
